Burial Practices
In Ancient Egypt, people believed that the spirits of the dead needed their bodies for the afterlife. After someone died, the priests played an important role in burial practices. They preserved bodies from decaying, through embalming. The process ended with the dead body as a mummy, but not just humans had that process of burial. Cats bodies were made into mummies as well. Every dead body was buried with items that would have been needed in the afterlife, however some did not have as valuable items as the Pharaohs. Not many could afford such complicated burias either, because of their social class.
